Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the process of our initiation into the Church.

In the Confirmation ceremony the Bishop calls upon the Holy Spirit to strengthen our faith and our commitment to following Christ by the laying on of hands and anointing with sacred Chrism. The ceremony takes place in the parish church attended by family and fellow parishioners.

In this diocese, Confirmation is celebrated for young people of secondary school age.

Confirmation 2025/2026

A Course for young people (Year 9 and above) in our Partnership (Heaton, Benton, Forest Hall, Walker, Byker, Gosforth, North Gosforth and Jesmond) will be based at St Teresa’s Church in Heaton. For future courses, contact the parish priest
